Name: Dawn Bartlett
Nicknames: Dawnie
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Occupation: aspiring Broadway starlet
Any prior relationships with passengers: none
Personality: Dawn isn't the type to let things get her down; she's carefree, the eternal optimist, and believes that there's no reason everyone else shouldn't be, too. This attitude comes easily to her, because she's had a pretty subdued, normal life compared to a lot of people, and her biggest drama was being teased about her height - something that has never bothered her, anyway, because she doesn't see herself as being lesser just because she's small. As she often says, "Life's too short. I'm not."
She's also extremely warm and friendly, striking up long conversations frequently with people she doesn't even know, which can occasionally paint her as annoying, because this girl loves to talk - about any damn thing, too; she's not picky, and she's got nothing to hide. She's loud, outgoing, just a tad over the top and proud of it. "Treat others the way you would want to be treated" is a major philosophy of hers, something she lives by constantly, but that doesn't mean that she treats everybody just sunshine-and-lollipops nice - if Dawn was behaving like an ass, she'd want to know so, and thus she's not afraid to call people out on their failings or encourage them to do the same to her.
Men, to Dawn, have always been just an interesting little side-note in her life. She loves to flirt and will do so with gleeful abandon, but isn't too enthusiastic about having a long-term relationship. Someday she knows she'll want to settle down, but that day is still very, very far away, so until then Dawn just wants to have fun. True love can wait a good decade or so, and even then, she's not after a fairytale romance where the handsome prince comes in and sweeps the girl off her feet. Dawn is perfectly capable of doing her own sweeping, thank you very much, and any man who thinks he can rescue her like she's some kind of damsel is gonna be in for a heck of a rude awakening.
In her spare time, singing is Dawn's primary hobby - she's hoping to become a major Broadway star someday. She also enjoys trashy romance novels (because they're fun to poke fun at), going on a good drinking binge every so often, matchmaking for her friends, and blueberry pie.
History: On the pretty ordinary night of May 19th, 1980 in the small town of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, June and Harvey Bartlett welcomed their little girl, Dawn, into the world. Even for a baby she was positively tiny, and over the course of her life, this wouldn't change much. Life was fairly uneventful for Dawn for the first few years; she grew up happy and excitable, as most children do, and her biggest worry was that her hair was too short for pigtails. Until the age of five, when her brother, Mitchell, was born and Dawn found something far more substantial to worry about. The siblings got along famously, but Mitchell was always a bit of a crybaby, prompting his sister to become very protective of him, almost like a second, much shorter, mother.
At about seven years old, Dawn discovered her very first hobby: singing. After hearing the song stylings of Madonna on television, Dawnie decided that it was a glamorous job and wanted to try it for herself - and boy howdy, did she ever know how to sing. Her parents were no end of impressed with their daughter's ability and volunteered her to perform at several functions, parties and church gatherings and whatnot. When she decided that she wanted to be a famous vocalist when she grew up, they supported her one hundred percent.
In her teens, attending Broken Arrow High, she dated a bit but never seriously, instead devoting her time to her studies and the school choir, and appearing in a lot of the school's musical stage productions. She continued to watch out for her little brother during this time, although not nearly as much as she had when they were kids, because he'd noticeably toughened up when he hit twelve and didn't look too kindly on the idea of his sister sticking up for him anymore. Dawn graduated with passable grades and went on to attend Oklahoma City University, studying for her degree in opera performance - but never completed her studies. At the age of twenty-two, she dropped out, moving to Los Angeles to do a few minor plays and things. After her vacation to Sydney is over, she plans on relocating to New York and trying for Broadway.
